About Us MK Technology is a small, family run business. The MK in our company name refers to Mat and Karen Sims who are the sole proprietors. Mat will do the technology related work and Karen keeps him organised, provides input on the web site and most importantly, keeps him sane.
We set this business up because for many years we have been asked to fix this and that computer problem by people who want to pay us for the service we provide.

Mat has worked with computers for 27 years, actually working in the computer industry for 23 years since leaving school. He has worked for three companies. OSV Engineering, programming database front ends in DBase II & III, and Clipper. The IBM PC User Group where he managed a large shareware software library, contributed to a monthly newsletter and continued to programme in DBase III and Clipper. An ISP called CIX where he delved into all forms of computer communications, networking, web site design, highly available servers, Unix in both Linux and Solaris flavours, Internet technology, complex problem solving and how to support real people who know little about technology.
